What I do and why it matters to me

I am a strategic communications professional and who's worked in nonprofit, public and private sectors to lead end-to-end, integrated communications strategy and planning. Working for a philanthropic organization, I lead a multi-talented communications and marketing team to consult, plan, execute and measure integrated campaigns - all to drive impact and social good.

As one of 25 rising leaders in CivicAction's 2017 Diverse City Fellows program, I strive to create and make space for new and underrepresented voices to exercise leadership.

Social justice is embedded in my DNA. Since arriving as a newcomer to Canada in 2008, I have worked and volunteered for more than 15 nonprofit organizations. I continue provide strategic counsel to local charities as a board member and further causes that are important to me through philanthropy.

Much of who I am as a communications and marketing professional today is shaped by my early-career experiences — from freelancing in journalism for CBC Hamilton to co-founding Hamilton Media Guild - a collective of media and communications professionals, to stage managing an LGBTQ dance theatre show to chairing Hamilton HIVE, one of Ontario’s leading young professional networks.

I’m honoured to be recognized for my achievements through awards Top 40 Under Forty Business Achievement (Hamilton, 2019), McMaster University Hamilton Community Impact (2015) and YWCA Hamilton Woman of Distinction (Public Affairs, 2014).
